About Mindolph

Mindolph is open source personal knowledge management software for desktop use. It keeps files in separate local workspaces, so knowledge stays in your own storage instead of a cloud service. Files are organized as a tree, and multiple tabs let you switch between open documents.

It works with Mind Map, Markdown, PlantUML, CSV, and plain text files. Mind maps support themes, notes, file and URI links, images, and emoticons, import from Freemind, Mindmup, XMind, Coggle, and Novamind, and export to Freemind, Markdown, image files, and AsciiDoc. Markdown and PlantUML add syntax highlighting and instant preview, and AI can generate or summarize content through LLM APIs.

Snippets insert reusable blocks into mind maps, Markdown, and PlantUML, an outline view tracks the active file, and find-in-files searches text across a folder. Collections group related files from different workspaces. Mindolph is built with JavaFX and runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
