About Wire
Wire is a secure messenger built for organizations and trusted by millions of people worldwide. It is designed around end-to-end encryption, so message content stays protected and collaboration happens without compromising on privacy.
The web client runs in the browser, backed by a server that serves the app and proxies connections to the Wire backend. Teams can run the open source client themselves, building it from source and pointing it at the environment they want to connect to.
For production, the build produces a packaged server output or a Docker image, so a self-hosted deployment can run from either. The web app is published as open source by Wire Swiss GmbH, while the Wire name and logos remain its trademarks.
