About Jami
Jami is a distributed, open source communication platform. Rather than routing conversations through a central service, it is built as a distributed system, which keeps communication in the hands of the people using it.
A Jami install pairs a background daemon with a client, so the same core powers the desktop and mobile experiences. The GNOME client, jami-gnome, starts its daemon automatically once installed, and builds are available for Linux, macOS, and Android.
The whole platform is free and open source, with the source code and documentation published openly. It can be installed from source on each supported platform, giving full control over the build to anyone who wants it.
