About VSCodium
VSCodium provides freely licensed binaries of Microsoft Visual Studio Code. It is for people who want the editor without Microsoft branding, telemetry, or the default Microsoft-specific configuration, and without building the code themselves.
The builds are generated from Microsoft's vscode source with community-driven default settings, then published as release binaries. Install options include package managers and Flatpak, and the same project also publishes stable and insiders releases.
VSCodium targets macOS, GNU/Linux, and Windows, with daily builds that stop if Microsoft has not released a new version. It is MIT licensed, uses open-vsx.org for extensions, and supports self-built binaries from the upstream vscode source if needed.
