About Publii

Publii is a desktop-based CMS for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you build static websites without a database. It is aimed at people who want a CMS-style editing flow for fast, secure, privacy-friendly sites, including beginners.

You create and update content locally on your computer, even without internet access, then upload changes to your server at the click of a button. Publii supports built-in themes and multiple upload options, including standard HTTP/HTTPS servers, Netlify, Amazon S3, GitHub Pages, Google Cloud, and SFTP.

Because the site is static with no database, it stays fast and secure and has no tracking or server-side maintenance. Publii ships built-in themes you can style through its options, so you get a CMS-style workflow much like WordPress or Joomla without running server software. It is a free desktop download for Windows, macOS, and Linux, licensed under GPLv3 and maintained by TidyCustoms.
