About OBS Studio
OBS Studio is software for capturing, compositing, encoding, recording, and streaming video content. It is used to make live streams and recorded videos from a single application, with support for high quality H264 / AAC encoding.
It can stream to Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Live, and other providers, and it records video content for local use. The software is built around video capture and screen capture workflows, including game capture and directshow input.
OBS Studio runs natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux and is licensed under GNU GPL v2 or later. Scenes mix multiple sources such as windows, displays, images, text, and capture cards, with per-source filters and transitions. A studio mode lets you preview and adjust scenes before pushing them live, and the whole pipeline is tuned for efficient real-time encoding.
