About Kryptor

Kryptor is a simple, modern file encryption and signing tool for Windows, Linux, and macOS. It pairs modern cryptographic primitives with no config options, aiming to be a leaner, friendlier alternative to heavier tools for everyday encryption and signatures.

You can encrypt files and directories with a passphrase, a symmetric key, or asymmetric keys, and share to multiple recipients with sender-authenticated, one-way file sharing. Encrypted output is indistinguishable from random, file names can be encrypted too, and digital signatures support authenticated comments and prehashing for large files.

Private keys are encrypted at rest and public keys are small, while UNIX-style passphrase entry, random passphrase generation, and pre-shared keys for post-quantum key exchange round out the workflow.

Key features

  • Encrypt files and directories with passphrase, symmetric key, or asymmetric keys
  • Encrypt to multiple recipients for one-way file sharing
  • Encrypt file names and make encrypted files indistinguishable from random
  • Create and verify digital signatures with authenticated comments and prehashing
  • Private keys are encrypted for protection at rest
