About WiseMapping
WiseMapping is a free, open-source, web-based mind mapping tool for individuals, teams, and educational institutions. It is used to create, share, and collaborate on mind maps in real time for brainstorming, project planning, and knowledge management. It also supports data control with self-hosted on-premise deployment.
It lets users build maps with icons, colors, fonts, custom styling, notes, links, and formatted text. Mind maps can be shared with role-based access control, searched across, embedded in web pages, and connected to external documents and resources. Import works from Freeplane, XMind, and Mind Manager, and export is available to PDF, SVG, Freeplane, and other formats. A REST API is included.
The open-source codebase powers WiseMapping.com. Production deployments use Docker images, with PostgreSQL v15+ recommended, MySQL v8+ supported, and HSQLDB v2.7+ for development and testing. Authentication can use database login, Google OAuth, Facebook OAuth, and LDAP.
