About Synfig Studio

Synfig Studio is a free 2D animation tool built as an industrial-strength solution for creating film-quality animation from vector and bitmap artwork. It is designed to eliminate the need to draw animation frame by frame, so a small team can produce higher-quality work with fewer people and resources.

You animate by setting keyframes and letting Synfig calculate the in-between frames automatically, working with both crisp vector shapes and imported bitmap images. This tweening-based approach makes complex motion practical without redrawing each step.

Synfig Studio runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS and is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0, with installers and source available from the project.
