About selfoss
selfoss is an open-source, web-based RSS reader and feed aggregation application. It brings updates from different web sites, social networks, and other platforms into one place, so a single self-hosted web app can serve as a personal news reader and multi-source mashup aggregator.
Written in PHP, selfoss can be uploaded to a web server and used with no required configuration when SQLite is enough. Feed updates run through a cron job, a systemd timer, or cliupdate.php, and database tables are created automatically. OPML import is available for moving subscriptions from another reader.
Stable releases are published for regular use, with development builds available through Cloudsmith. selfoss was created by Tobias Zeising and is currently maintained by Jan Tojnar in his free time, with maintenance prioritized over new features. The source code is licensed under GPL-3 or later, with some parts and bundled packages potentially GPL-3 only.
