About RSS Guard

RSS Guard is a feed reader for RSS, Atom, JSON, iCalendar, and Sitemap feeds. It is built for reading updates from multiple sources in one place, including online feed services and local or remote feeds, and it runs on Windows, Linux, BSD, OS/2, and macOS.

It can connect to Feedly, Gmail, Bazqux, FreshRSS, Inoreader, Miniflux, Reedah, The Old Reader, Nextcloud News, Tiny Tiny RSS, and XMPP. It also includes podcast playback with a built-in mpv-based or ffmpeg-based media player, native Gemini support, and basic XMPP PubSub support for real-time Atom entries and chat messages.

RSS Guard is open-source under GNU GPLv3 and is maintained by Martin Rotter. It syncs with services including FreshRSS, Miniflux, Tiny Tiny RSS, Inoreader, Nextcloud News, and Gmail, so the desktop app can sit on top of a feed server you host yourself.
