About OpenSEO
OpenSEO is an open source SEO platform for keyword research, rank tracking, domain insights, backlinks, site audits, and AI visibility. It targets users who want a less bloated SEO suite with data and tooling they can self-host, fork, and extend.
Workflows cover topic discovery, demand estimates, keyword prioritization, desktop and mobile rank tracking, SERP feature detection, visibility gains and losses, backlink wins and losses, and technical crawl issues. AI views show brand appearance in AI answers, competitor mentions, source coverage, and prompts users may ask. An MCP server lets Codex, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and other MCP clients use SEO data in editor or chat workflows.
OpenSEO is MIT licensed and available as a free self-hosted app or a managed app at $10/month. Self-hosting uses Docker Compose or a Cloudflare Worker. API costs are usage-based: bring a DataForSEO API key, and AI brand lookup results are cached for 24 hours.
