About Nginx Proxy Manager
Nginx Proxy Manager is a self-hosted web application for managing Nginx proxy hosts. It routes your websites and other web services through a reverse proxy with free SSL, so you can forward to services running at home or elsewhere without needing to know much about Nginx or Let's Encrypt.
The admin interface handles forwarding domains, redirections, streams, and 404 hosts, with SSL issued automatically through Let's Encrypt or supplied as your own custom certificates. Access lists, basic HTTP authentication, user management, permissions, and an audit log give you control over who reaches each host, and advanced Nginx configuration is there when you need it.
It ships as a pre-built Docker image and runs through Docker Compose, with the admin interface served on port 81. The barrier to entry is kept deliberately low, so reverse proxying with SSL termination takes only a short compose file to get going.
