MPC-HC

MPC-HC (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema) is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows. Its simple, lightweight interface hides a mature player with a huge range of built-in controls and options.

As a DirectShow player it stays flexible and extensible through third-party filters, and bundled LAV Filters cover modern codecs including HEVC, VVC, and AV1 video and AC4 audio. It offers a dark or light modern theme, video preview on the seekbar, and HDR playback through MPC Video Renderer or madVR.

Subtitle handling includes search, WebVTT, and libass, alongside playback speed control, A-B repeat, and rotate, flip, mirror, stretch, and zoom. It can open video website URLs with yt-dlp and save a copy. MPC-HC runs on Windows 7 through 11 under the GPL 3 license.
