About Hire Gnome
Hire Gnome is an open-source applicant tracking system for small recruiting and staffing teams that want a self-hostable alternative to complex enterprise platforms. It covers the everyday hiring workflow of candidate pipelines, structured evaluation, and lightweight reporting.
Core modules track candidates, clients, contacts, job orders, submissions, interviews, and placements, with list and Kanban views and custom fields on every module. A role and division model scopes access for administrators, directors, and recruiters. Optional AI features handle resume parsing, candidate summaries, and match explanations when an OpenAI key is set, and a client review portal lets external contacts assess candidates through magic links.
The app runs on Next.js with a Prisma-backed MySQL database and object storage that falls back to local files. Teams can self-host it for free, with CSV importers for Bullhorn and Zoho Recruit, or use the managed hosting from the maintainers.
