About Envoy Gateway
Envoy Gateway turns Envoy Proxy into a full-fledged application and API gateway, run either standalone or on Kubernetes. It provisions and configures the underlying Envoy Proxies automatically, so you describe routing and policy intent and the gateway manages the data plane for you.
It is driven by the Kubernetes Gateway API, implementing the standard resources and extending them where Envoy offers more. From those resources it dynamically provisions managed Envoy Proxies, giving a single control plane for application and API traffic and lowering the operational bar for adopting Envoy.
Envoy Gateway is part of the Envoy project under the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, sharing its governance and release process. It is self-hosted software under the Apache License 2.0.
