About Bisq
Bisq is a desktop application for buying and selling bitcoin in exchange for national currencies or other digital assets. It is a decentralized, peer-to-peer exchange with a built-in non-custodial wallet, so you trade directly with other people and Bisq never holds your funds.
Deposits are locked in 2-of-2 multisig escrow, and a human arbitration system resolves any disputes. There is no registration or identity verification, and your trading data stays on disk on your own machine.
Every Bisq node runs as a Tor hidden service by default for network privacy. Governance runs through the Bisq DAO, built on Bitcoin, and the app is distributed under the AGPL.
